How is the money allocated?
Sponsorship grants, individual gifts and corporate donations fund programs in Plan International’s 55 program countries in Latin America, Asia and Africa. The money is going to programs that the local offices and employees in the field decide on in order to create long-term improvement and development in the best possible way. The local program offices focus on a wide range of children’s rights to health, education, protection against violence, a reasonable standard of living, protection during disasters and participation. With institutional funds, Sida and EU for example Plan International also contributes to other programs and projects in the program countries. They contribute with financing, capacity building and skills development, but also with emergency support for emergency operations and reconstructions. Plan International’ raised funds are regularly transferred to their international programs via Plan International’s head office in the United Kingdom. No funds are invested in shares, funds on the market or any other type of bank-papers (security-papers).
