Plan International is a global childrens’ rights organization and operates in 75 countries. They are a politically and religiously independent organization. Their work is based on the UN Convention for children’s rights and always ensures that the focus is on children’s best interest. They work on behalf of children and always proceed from their needs. Plan International has a special focus on gender equality and focus on providing girls the same opportunities – because girls belong to one of the most discriminated groups in the world. Plan International always work preventively and long-term basis, but they are also on site in acute disasters. They work at the grassroots level on behalf of the children, their families and local decision makers. They are also collaborating with other organizations and with authorities to influence legislation. By doing so, together we are creating long-term change for individuals as well as within entire society.
